Prima facie, all desks look similar. There are the usual suspects,  A Monitor, a keyboard, or a laptop, maybe a telephone!( Though we are well settled in the zoom age)! Yet, most desks are dotted with unique things that can make workdays easier. Especially when efficiency has suffered a bit more, now that we mostly work remotely.

Ready to build your workspace? We organised our list of 6 essentials , from the most important items to get your work done, to the nice little extras, that will help improve your productivity or simply enhance your day.

1. A Good Chair matters

A good office chair provides lumbar and pelvic support which results in your back muscles being less stressed. With that, comes better posture, better breathing, and less fatigue. So do yourself a deed and give your work chair a good hard look and see how it measures up. All the features of an ergonomic chair are adjustable to acclimatize different activities you may perform at your work desk. It also has a swivel feature that enables you to move around swiftly without having to get up from the seat or without the need to extend and strain yourself.

2. A Laptop stand – So that you can relax

The freedom of working on a laptop doesn’t compare. It is easy to stay productive, even on the go. But ergonomically, a laptop gives you a hunch. That leads to muscle strain, and paun in the shoulders, neck, hands, and arms.

The easy solution is a laptop stand. You’ll be able to raise and lower the height of your laptop to maintain  a better posture while you use it. Most laptop stands are quite versatile. But here is a good one, we can recommend you can use.

3. Burn the Midnight Lamp.

A desk lamp that’ll provide that a much-needed boost of light during those late-night sessions. Increasing your laptop to its highest brightness setting is not the solution.  For this reason, a good desk lamp should provide the following: Clear, bright light that’s easy to work beneath. Relatively focused beam with minimal glare. Choose this lamp, and add some light to those long working hours.

4. Curb that Surge !

A surge protector irons out the sudden fluctuations of electricity; thus, protecting your electronic devices against random power  damage. Having any surge protector isn’t enough to protect your appliances from harm. You need to find one that suits your needs. We found one, that is ideal for the confines of your desk!

5. Give yourself a leafy Work Buddy
